We want to say thank you for all of the knitters across the country who have continued to knit outfits for bear cubs for more than two decades even without a presence on the internet.  We are back and want to welcome all of our old knitters and hopefully new knitters to participate in this most worthwhile charity project.  We would also like to thank Fortistar and its staff for helping support Cubs For Kids over all these years.  Needless to say that without the knitters and the volunteers who dress and pack the bears for shipping, none of this could have happened.  We would also like to thank The Bearington Collection for supporting Cubs For Kids. We are excited to be back and look forward to all of the clothing you send in so that we can continue to provide less fortunate children a gift during the Holidays.

Cubs for Kids was started more than twenty-four years ago.  It was started out of a love for knitting and love for children.  Over the last twenty-four years, Cubs for Kids has donated more than 15,000 teddy bears dressed in hand and machine knitted clothing to homeless children across the United States.  Previously we were in all of the knitting magazines as well as knit outs, knitting shows and newspapers over the years.  Unfortunately, we lost our host for our website but in spite of no internet presence, the knitters keep sending in their sweaters, volunteers still come in to dress the bears and homeless children are still receiving them.  We hope to get our message to many new knitters so that they can help and participate in this most worthwhile charity project.

 We at Cubs for Kids want to get the number of bears back up to where we were before we lost out internet presence and hope in 2023, we will be able once again to ship 1,500 bear cubs for 2023 holiday season.
